Mundus founder, Salvador Tena was a building contractor, entrepreneur and occasional collector who decided, jointly with his wife Neus Serrano, to open an antique store in 1965.
During the first decade the small emerging philately and numismatic business, located in the neighbourhood of Sarrià in Barcelona, extended its role to take in the sale of playing cards, old paper items, classic books and various graphic documents.
Salvador Tena became passionate with the history of playing cards and produced several authoritative catalogues during his lifetime.
A new chapter began with the second generation taking over the business after Tena's passing in 2013 and since then, a third generation has joined in to present a bigger picture in a drive to attract new customers and to focus on online initiatives.
